The annual talent show is in audition stage and Giles has been appointed to run the show by Principal Fluties replacement, Principal Snyder.

Principal Snyder instructs Xander, Willow and Buffy to be in the Talent Show which amused Giles as the three were making fun of him running the thing.

One of the Talent Showwntrants is found dead with her heart removed and Giles finds a text on the "Brotherhood of Seven", a clan of demons who must obtain the heart and brain of a human youth every sevenm years to keep their guise as younhg humans.

The first suspect is Morgan, who has been seen on a number of occasions talking to his wooden dummy Sid and seems to be suffering from headaches.

Morgan is later found with his brain removed, and Buffy knowing that the dummy is alive fears that the dummy is the killer.

Sid turns out to be a Demon hunter who has been imprissioned in a dummy's body. Both Sid and Buffy search for the killer who is now looking for another brain as Morgans could not be used.

The Demon turns out to be a magician that attempts to get Giles brain by getting him to lay down and test out the guillotine trick. Buffy arrives just in time to stop the creature from harming Giles and Sid fufills the curse of being within the dummy's body by killing the creature.
